Growing Lykins: The Vibrantly Diverse Neighborhood in KCMO's Historic Northeast

Lykins is one of seven (7) neighborhoods in Kansas City's Historic Northeast, adjacent to Pendleton Heights and bout 5 minutes from Downtown. Named after the first elected mayor of Kansas City, the Lykins neighborhood is working to address blight, safety, and quality of life through targeted redevelopment. A diverse community, residents have become their own "Master Developers," working with rehabbers and development groups to improve and build homes that support a mixed-income community. Featured speakers include Brandon Mason and Gregg Lombardi of Neighborhood Legal Services, who will talk about they work they do with the community to redevelop while avoiding displacement.
